The Spike TV Guide To Being A Real Man

Ah, Spike TV. The Network FOR MEN! WOOHOO! The network for guys who like "guy things" like tits, and beer, and explosions, and high-speed car wrecking accidents, and movies starring Chuck Norris.
Or something.
Look, I've enjoyed some programming on Spike. Heck, my MUM has enjoyed some of the programming on Spike. But you know, dudes and dudettes, some of it's just plain shitty. As shitty as Dante's Cove on LOGO was shitty. Mediocre. Pandering. Simplistic. Plebeian.

Oh, well.
You know, I'm starting to think there's more of a root of Class-System politics than mere gender-conformity issues at play here in the ongoing "what is a *REAL* man" debate. It's not so much about what one culture or group (or era) attributes to being manly, but more about how some of our more 'advanced' cultures and society's today are equating the blue-collar aesthetic with 'manliness' - the division is more socioeconomic and class-oriented than a simple perpetuation of gender-stereotypes. Nonetheless, the wheels of my mind are a'spinning and I encourage anyone else to share their views.

But some of that programming on Spike really does make it seem as if men are proud to be neanderthals. Eek.
